Kevin True brings over 35 years of experience in sales and executive roles to Adams Publishing Group as the Regional Publisher & GM of APG Media of Southern Minnesota. Originally from Austin, Minnesota (SPAMTOWN, USA), Kevin began his marketing career with an internship in Brookings, South Dakota, where he sold advertising for a newly established rock ‘n roll radio station, eventually advancing to Sales Manager.

Kevin’s print media career started as the General Manager of Prairie Publications, Inc. in Dell Rapids, SD, a small group comprising three weekly newspapers and two regional TMC products serving the Sioux Falls area. He later returned to Minnesota with Shopper Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) as the General Manager of the Mower County Shopper in Austin, MN, before moving to the St. Cloud Shopping News in the same role. Following the acquisition of Minnesota Sun Newspapers by APG’s ECM group, Kevin transitioned to the Regional Advertising Manager position in Eden Prairie, where he oversaw advertising sales for 29 weekly suburban newspapers, multiple magazines, and various websites.

Kevin then joined Boone Newspapers as the Advertising Director at the Albert Lea Tribune and subsequently served as President & Publisher of Austin Daily Herald, Austin Newspaper, Inc. Since 2012, he has been the Regional Director of Advertising for Media News Group, Inc. (formerly Redwing Publishing & Big Fish Works).

Active in his community, Kevin has held board positions with the Hutchinson Downtown Association, Austin Area Chamber of Commerce, Mower County Pheasants Forever, Mower County Victim Crisis Center, MNA Advertising Committee, and the Advisory Board for Nexus-Gerard Family Healing of Austin. In his spare time, he volunteers with the local Youth Hockey Association and enjoys the great outdoors.

Kevin and his wife Dianne have two grown daughters and are excited to be part of the APG Media of Southern Minnesota team.
