Bob Wallace

Bob Wallace has over 30 years of experience of accounting management in the newspaper industry.  He is responsible for all accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance reporting and financial analysis for the company.  In addition, he is part of the analysis team for new acquisitions and coordinates the merging of new operations into the company’s financial systems.

Wallace is a 1981 graduate of Colby College in Waterville, Maine with a BA in Administrative Science, and also attended the University of Alaska, Fairbanks continuing his accounting studies.   After stints in financial analysis and cost accounting in the textile and mining industries, he joined the newspaper industry as Accounting Manager of the then Guy Gannett-owned Morning Sentinel in central Maine in 1988.

In 1992, Wallace was recruited to become controller of the flagship Murphy Newspapers’ Evening Telegram in Superior, Wisc.  Promoted to CFO of the Murphy Group the following year Wallace remained in that position through three ownerships and a series of acquisitions and divestitures.  During that time accounting was reorganized from individual accounting departments to a consolidated central accounting operation.  The Murphy Group’s successor, Superior Publishing Corp., was acquired by American Consolidated Media in 2007.

Wallace became Vice President of Accounting Operations under that company with responsibility for assimilating new acquisitions into the group and managing all day-to-day operations at several accounting hubs.  He became CFO of the company in 2013.

In 2014, Adams Publishing Group acquired much of ACM and Wallace joined APG as its CFO.  Wallace managed the transfer of accounting functions from ACM to a new APG accounting department.  Since that time systems have been continually upgraded and expanded to include new acquisitions.

Wallace has been very active in the communities in which he has lived.  He had a 10-year stint as a volunteer fireman, has served on town planning boards, Habitat For Humanity boards, served as a Boy Scout Master, Lions Club, and is a member of the Masons.

He and his wife Pam have two grown daughters, one of whom is currently serving full time in the Army National Guard.
