Mark Weber

ECM (East Central Minnesota)

Mark Weber serves as the Regional President of APG’s East Central Minnesota Region. Prior to joining APG, Weber was the General Manager for ECM which was acquired by APG in 2016.  There he managed 30-plus separate weekly newspapers, websites and other publications across Minnesota.  He is a 25-plus year veteran of the newspaper industry having held various senior management positions with the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Denver Post, St. Paul Pioneer Press and Outdoor News.  During that time Weber has been a sales, advertising and marketing leader, as well as leading major profit enhancement and new media initiatives.

In addition to his professional experience, he has served on a number of professional and non-profit boards, including the Minnesota Newspaper Association, Newspaper Association of America Advertising Federation, Twin Cities Media Alliance, Advisory Board to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Voyageurs National Park Conservancy, Minnesota Emergency Foodshelf Network, and the March of Dimes of Minneapolis and Denver.

Weber received a BS in Business Education from the University of Minnesota where he lettered in baseball.  He holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of St. Thomas (Minn.), along with a number of professional and executive training certifications.  Weber was a high school teacher and a marketing and research executive prior to his newspaper career.  He is married to Cynthia and has two daughters.
