Pioneer News Group selling media division to Adams Publishing Group
The Pioneer News Group Co. today announced that it is selling its media division assets to family-owned Adams Publishing Group. The sale will include 22 daily and weekly newspapers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Utah along with a newspaper and commercial print facility, various shoppers and websites. The sale is expected to be finalized on November 1, 2017. Terms were not disclosed.
Adams Publishing Group acquires Jones Media, Inc.
MINNEAPOLIS — Adams Publishing Group announced that it has acquired Jones Media, Inc., a fourth-generation family-owned media company headquartered in Greeneville, Tennessee, effective September 1, 2016. Jones Media has several daily and non-daily community newspapers, tourism-related products and services and a digital marketing solutions agency.
Adams Publishing Group to acquire ECM Publishers Inc
MINNEAPOLIS — Adams Publishing Group announced today that it intends to purchase ECM Publishers Inc., founded by former Gov. Elmer L. Andersen, which is one of the largest publishers of weekly newspapers in the country.
ECM has 50 individual publications reaching more than 600,000 households across central Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
Adams Publishing Group, LLC acquires Defiance Publishing Company, LLC
Minneapolis, MN – December 9, 2015 – Adams Publishing Group, LLC has purchased the Defiance Publishing Company, LLC from Dix Communications.
Defiance Publishing Company employs 56 people and publishes The Crescent-News, a six-day a week daily newspaper (Sunday-Friday) with a distribution of 14,000 on weekdays and 15,300 on Sundays and Crescent–Extra, a free weekly shopper mailed to 9,200 households in the Defiance and Napoleon zip codes. The company also publishes the Northwest Ohio Homes Magazine and Northwest Ohio Auto Book. Their web site www.crescent-news.com is viewed by more than 76,00 unique visitors each month.
Adams Publishing Group, LLC acquires Post Register Company
Minneapolis, MN – October 15, 2015 – Adams Publishing Group, LLC announced today that it intends to purchase the assets of the four Idaho newspapers from the Post Register Company, including the Idaho Falls Post Register and weekly newspapers including the Challis Messenger, Jefferson Star and Shelly Pioneer.

Minneapolis, MN – July 1, 2015-‐ Adams Publishing Group, LLC announced today that it has purchased the assets of LaPean Publications headquartered in Ashland, Wisconsin. The acquisition includes the Evergreen Country Shopper, North Country Sun and Evergreen Zone 2.

Adams Publishing Group acquires The Post Community Media Group’s Southern Maryland Newspapers and Comprint Military Publications
Easton, MD – Adams Publishing Group (APG) announced that effective July 1st it has acquired The Post Community Media Group’s Southern Maryland Newspapers and Comprint Military Publications.
This acquisition includes thirteen newspapers and their associated digital assets. The group includes three twice-weeklies, nine weeklies, and one bi-weekly publication covering Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s Counties in Maryland, along with twelve military installations in Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
